Tracking the pain: study follows veterans to uncover why brain injuries lead to chronic pain

NCT ID NCT07424248

Summary

This study aims to understand why combat-related brain injuries often lead to long-term chronic pain. Researchers will follow 100 veterans with recent mild-to-moderate brain injuries for six months, tracking their pain levels, psychological health, and physical function. The goal is to identify early warning signs that predict who will develop chronic pain, which could help guide future prevention and treatment approaches.
