Starving cancer of cholesterol: new combo shows promise in early trial

NCT ID NCT04862260

First seen Mar 29, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding three cholesterol-lowering drugs (atorvastatin, ezetimibe, and evolocumab) to standard chemotherapy can slow or stop pancreatic cancer growth. It involves 3 adults with newly diagnosed advanced or metastatic pancreatic cancer. The goal is to see if this approach is safe and feasible, and whether cutting off cholesterol supply makes cancer cells more vulnerable to treatment.
