Summary
This study looks at how doctors currently treat people having a massive heart attack that leads to cardiogenic shock, a life-threatening condition where the heart can't pump enough blood. Researchers are observing about 120 patients at 20 hospitals that use mechanical heart pumps, focusing on decisions to escalate support and ICU care. The goal is to understand what leads to better survival rates, not to test a new drug or device.
