Heart drug showdown: which Beta-Blocker protects ICD patients best?

Summary
This study compares two common heart failure medications, carvedilol and metoprolol succinate, in 2,000 adults who have an implantable defibrillator (ICD). Participants currently taking metoprolol will be randomly assigned to either stay on it or switch to carvedilol. The goal is to see which drug better prevents heart-related hospitalizations, ICD shocks, or death, and improves quality of life over up to 3 years.
