Engineered immune cells with 'Sleep' switch tested for tough leukemia

NCT ID NCT03016377

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests a new treatment for people with a hard-to-treat type of leukemia. The treatment uses the patient's own immune cells (T cells) that are modified to better find and kill cancer cells. A safety switch is added to turn the cells off if severe side effects occur. The main goal is to see if this approach is safe and tolerable.
