Engineered immune cells with 'Sleep Switch' tested for tough leukemia

NCT ID NCT03016377

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests a new treatment for people with a type of leukemia that has come back or not responded to standard therapy. The treatment uses the patient's own immune cells (T cells) that are modified in a lab to better find and kill leukemia cells. A special safety switch is added to these cells so they can be turned off if dangerous side effects occur. The main goal is to see if this approach is safe and tolerable.
