New combo aims to outsmart resistant breast cancer

NCT ID NCT07222215

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding elacestrant to standard chemotherapy (capecitabine) can help people with advanced estrogen receptor-positive (ER+) breast cancer that no longer responds to CDK 4/6 inhibitors. About 297 participants will be randomly assigned to get either the combination or capecitabine alone. The goal is to see if the combo delays cancer growth longer.
