Summary
This study tested a new, low-cost blood test called the Intensive Care Infection Score (ICIS) to see if it could help doctors tell if a burn patient has a bacterial infection. Researchers compared the ICIS test to other common infection markers in 97 adult and child burn patients. The goal was to find a faster, more affordable, and reliable way to guide antibiotic use and avoid unnecessary prescriptions.
