Cheap, fast blood test could help doctors spot infections in burn victims
NCT ID NCT04894500
Summary
This study tested a new, low-cost blood test called the Intensive Care Infection Score (ICIS) to see if it could better detect bacterial infections in hospitalized burn patients. Researchers compared the ICIS test to other standard infection markers in 97 adult and child burn patients. The goal was to find a faster, more affordable way to help doctors decide when antibiotics are truly needed.
