Summary
This study tested a short therapy called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for 49 people with HIV who were heavy drinkers. The therapy uses mindfulness and personal values to help reduce drinking and improve HIV medication adherence. Researchers measured drinking days, alcohol levels, and medication adherence over 6 months to see if the approach was helpful and practical.
