Breath sniffing device may pick cancer patients who respond to immunotherapy

NCT ID NCT04146064

First seen May 10, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tested a breath analysis device (eNose) to see if it can predict which cancer patients will benefit from immunotherapy. Researchers collected breath samples from 190 adults with lung, melanoma, bladder, kidney, or head and neck cancers before treatment. The goal was to see if unique breath patterns could identify responders, potentially offering a cheap, non-invasive way to guide treatment decisions.
