Could a simple ultrasound and AI save women from unnecessary breast biopsies?

NCT ID NCT06171607

First seen Feb 02, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tests whether contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) combined with machine learning can accurately tell if a breast lump is benign or malignant. About 100 women with suspicious breast masses will receive CEUS before their scheduled biopsy. The goal is to see if this approach can safely identify benign lumps and reduce the need for invasive biopsies.
