Radiation before surgery could allow immediate breast reconstruction

Summary
This study is testing whether giving radiation therapy before mastectomy surgery allows for immediate breast reconstruction using the patient's own tissue. Currently, patients with advanced breast cancer typically wait months after surgery for reconstruction. Researchers want to see if this new timing approach is safe and causes fewer wound problems compared to the standard delayed approach.
