Lab-Grown mini tumors could guide surgeons to cancer cells
NCT ID NCT07421479
First seen Feb 20, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study takes tumor samples from 50 women with invasive breast cancer to grow 3D mini-tumors (organoids) in the lab. These organoids are used to collect tiny particles called extracellular vesicles, which naturally seek out cancer cells. The goal is to see if these particles can help deliver dyes or drugs directly to tumors, potentially improving surgery. This is a research study, not a treatment.
