Tiny tumor particles could light the way for breast cancer surgery
NCT ID NCT07421479
First seen Feb 20, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study takes tumor tissue from 50 women with invasive breast cancer to grow 3D models called organoids in the lab. These organoids are used to collect tiny particles released by cells, known as extracellular vesicles, which naturally seek out tumor tissue. The goal is to see if these particles can be used in future surgeries to help doctors see and remove cancer more precisely. This is a research study, not a treatment, and aims to gather knowledge for better diagnostic tools.
