Researchers probe hidden link between cancer swelling and chronic pain

NCT ID NCT06012786

Summary

This study aimed to understand the connection between arm swelling (lymphedema) and chronic muscle pain (myofascial pain syndrome) in breast cancer survivors. Researchers observed 110 patients who had undergone breast cancer surgery or radiation to see if the severity of swelling was related to the frequency and intensity of muscle pain. They measured pain points, arm function, and quality of life to learn how these conditions affect daily life.
