Sharper brain scan could tell real cancer from scar tissue

NCT ID NCT04044937

Summary

This study tested a new type of PET scan that uses a special tracer called FET to see if it can better tell the difference between a brain tumor that has come back and harmless scar tissue from past treatment. It involved 143 people with brain tumors that were suspected of returning. The goal was to see if this scan helps doctors make more accurate decisions without needing a risky biopsy.
