Brain scans reveal secrets of eye movement adaptation

NCT ID NCT03488082

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 36 times

Summary

This study used functional MRI to see which parts of the brain are active when people adjust their eye movements (saccades) to keep vision accurate. Thirty-six healthy adults performed eye-tracking tasks while in the scanner. The goal was to map the brain networks behind this automatic correction process, which helps us see clearly as we age or when our vision changes.
