Zap and talk: can brain stimulation boost speech therapy?

NCT ID NCT05561400

Summary

This small pilot study tested a new approach to help people with non-fluent aphasia, a speech disorder caused by stroke. Researchers combined a gentle, non-invasive brain stimulation technique (tDCS) with intensive speech therapy to see if it could improve conversation skills, word-finding, and memory. The goal was to gather initial data on safety and effectiveness to plan a larger future trial.
