Summary
This study tested whether a non-drug treatment using magnetic pulses on the brain could help people with alcohol use disorder drink less. Researchers compared stimulating two different brain areas to see which was more effective at increasing days without alcohol and reducing heavy drinking over 4 months. The treatment was given alongside standard behavioral therapy to 147 adults seeking treatment.
