Summary

This study tested whether a non-drug treatment using magnetic pulses on the brain could help people with alcohol use disorder drink less. Researchers compared stimulating two different brain areas to see which was better at increasing days without drinking and reducing heavy drinking days over four months. The goal was to see if this brain stimulation could be a new tool to help people stick with their treatment goals.
