Scientists map epilepsy brain signals to improve surgery safety
NCT ID NCT02342938
Summary
This study aimed to improve epilepsy surgery by comparing different brain scanning methods. Researchers measured brain activity in 47 epilepsy patients and healthy volunteers using multiple techniques simultaneously. The goal was to better identify seizure-causing brain areas and map healthy brain functions to help surgeons avoid damaging critical regions during operations.
