Timing is everything: new study tests morning vs. evening BP meds for obese patients

NCT ID NCT04971720

First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at whether taking blood pressure medication in the morning or evening can help restore the natural nighttime drop in blood pressure in people with obesity. Obese individuals often have high nighttime blood pressure, which raises their risk for heart problems. Researchers will give participants either sacubitril/valsartan or valsartan at different times of day and measure changes in blood pressure over 28 days.
