Researchers probe deadly blood clot mystery in muscle disease
NCT ID NCT03424460
Summary
This study aims to understand why people with myotonic dystrophy type 1 (DM1) have a much higher risk of dangerous blood clots in their veins. Researchers will test the blood of 100 DM1 patients and 30 healthy volunteers to look for clotting abnormalities and analyze gene activity in liver and blood cells. The goal is to find the biological cause of this risk to help develop better prevention strategies for patients.
