Summary
This study tested three experimental tools designed to help doctors insert biopsy needles at the correct angle during CT-guided biopsies for cancer. The goal was to see if these tools—a laser pointer, a plastic block with pre-drilled holes, and a mobile device—could improve accuracy compared to a doctor's standard visual estimation. Seventeen adults scheduled for biopsies of lung, liver, or kidney tumors participated, and the tools were only used briefly at the skin surface before the standard biopsy procedure continued.
