Beetroot juice may boost fitness while fasting
NCT ID NCT06767176
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looked at whether drinking beetroot juice every day during the first week of Ramadan helps maintain or improve exercise performance in healthy adults. Twenty-one participants did exercise tests before and after fasting. The goal was to see if the nitrates in beetroot juice could offset any drop in fitness caused by fasting.
