First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study tested a program that used text messages and financial rewards to encourage physical activity in 75 teens and young adults (ages 13-22) with prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. Participants wore a Fitbit and received motivational texts and small incentives to increase their daily steps and moderate-to-vigorous activity. The goal was to see if this approach could help them become more active and improve their health.
