First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study tested whether a program of friendly, supportive phone calls (called BE WITH) could help older adults feel less lonely, depressed, and isolated. Over 670 adults aged 55 and older who received meal services took part. Some received weekly calls for 8 weeks, while others did not. The goal was to see if these calls improved mental health and quality of life.
