Immunotherapy and radiation combo shows promise against rare sarcomas

NCT ID NCT03474094

First seen Feb 02, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding the immunotherapy drug atezolizumab to standard radiation therapy can shrink soft tissue sarcomas more effectively before surgery. About 62 adults with operable sarcoma will receive different sequences of radiation, atezolizumab, and surgery. The goal is to see if the combination increases tumor cell death (necrosis) compared to radiation alone.
