New drug combo shows promise for Tough-to-Treat head and neck cancer
NCT ID NCT03818061
First seen Apr 26, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tested a combination of two drugs, atezolizumab and bevacizumab, in 33 adults with advanced head and neck cancer that had already been treated with platinum-based chemotherapy. The goal was to see if the combo could shrink or control tumors. The approach aims to boost the immune system and cut off tumor blood supply, but it is not a cure and ongoing management is expected.
