New disc implant aims to fix back pain without freezing your spine

Summary
This study is testing a new artificial disc implant designed to reduce chronic low back pain while preserving natural spine movement. The implant replaces damaged cushioning in the spine as an alternative to traditional fusion surgery, which limits motion. Researchers will track 72 patients with degenerative disc disease to see if the device safely reduces pain and disability while maintaining flexibility.
