First seen Mar 23, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tested whether using augmented reality (AR) on a smartphone helps men who have sex with men (MSM) perform HIV self-tests more easily and confidently compared to using paper instructions. About 349 participants in Hong Kong were randomly assigned to use either an AR app or standard instruction sheets. The researchers measured confidence, usability, and satisfaction to see if AR improves the testing experience.
