NCT ID NCT05781165
First seen Mar 23, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study tested whether using augmented reality (AR) on a smartphone helps men who have sex with men perform HIV self-tests more easily and confidently compared to standard paper instructions. About 200 participants in Hong Kong were split into two groups: one used an AR web app, the other used instruction sheets. Researchers measured confidence, usability, and satisfaction to see if the AR approach is a better way to support self-testing.
