Digital scents: can AR aromatherapy soothe dementia distress?
NCT ID NCT07431164
Summary
This study is testing whether an educational program that uses augmented reality (AR) to teach aromatherapy can help ease behavioral and psychological symptoms in older adults with early-stage dementia. About 300 participants in Taiwan are randomly assigned to either try the AR aromatherapy sessions or continue with their usual activities. The goal is to see if this non-drug, technology-based approach can improve mood, sleep, and overall well-being for people living with dementia.
