Scientists probe aortic wall to predict deadly ruptures

NCT ID NCT07422129

First seen Feb 23, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looks at the strength of the aorta (the main artery) in people having heart surgery. Researchers want to find out why some aortas are weak and prone to tearing or bursting. They will compare tissue from patients with aortic disease to those without. The goal is to better predict who is at risk, not to test a new treatment.
