Scientists test aorta strength to predict rupture risk
NCT ID NCT07422129
Summary
This study aims to better understand the physical strength and elasticity of the aortic wall in people with aortic aneurysms or dissections. Researchers will collect and test small tissue samples from 250 patients undergoing heart surgery, comparing those with aortic disease to those without. The goal is to learn if certain patient characteristics are linked to a weaker aortic wall, which could help doctors better assess the risk of a dangerous rupture in the future.
