Ankle mobilization may give jumpers a leg up
NCT ID NCT07711379
First seen Jul 17, 2026 · Last updated Jul 17, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether a hands-on ankle technique called mobilization with movement can immediately improve how high healthy university students can jump and how far they can bend their ankle. Half the participants receive the real mobilization, while the other half get a sham version without the therapeutic glide. Jump height and ankle flexibility are measured before and right after the single session to see if there is an acute benefit.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Mobilization with Movement (MWM) procedure applied to the ankle joint
- What this could lead to
- If effective, this technique could help athletes or active people improve jump performance and ankle mobility quickly.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage study in healthy volunteers, so results may not apply to injured people or real-world sports settings.
