First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study looked at whether alternating between a day of fasting and a day of normal eating, combined with exercise, can reduce liver fat in people with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). The trial included 80 obese adults who were not very active. Researchers measured changes in liver fat using MRI and also tracked weight and blood markers. The goal was to see if this lifestyle approach could be a drug-free way to manage the condition.
