Summary
This study tests whether a natural brain chemical called allopregnanolone can safely slow or reverse memory loss in Alzheimer's disease. About 100 people aged 55-80 with mild to moderate Alzheimer's will receive either the drug or a placebo for several months. The main goal is to see if the drug can protect or grow the memory center of the brain.
