First seen Apr 11, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study tests whether weekly infusions of albumin (a protein) can improve thinking and quality of life in people with cirrhosis who have had episodes of hepatic encephalopathy (brain fog). Thirty participants will receive both saline (placebo) and albumin infusions over 8 weeks, acting as their own control. The goal is to see if albumin leads to lasting cognitive improvement.
