Summary

This study tests whether weekly infusions of albumin (a protein) can improve thinking and memory in people with cirrhosis who have had episodes of confusion from hepatic encephalopathy. Thirty participants will receive both saline (placebo) and albumin at different times, acting as their own control. The goal is to see if any cognitive benefits last weeks after treatment ends.
