AI vs. doctors: who makes better choices for sepsis and lung failure?
NCT ID NCT07025096
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 32 times
Summary
This study compares treatment recommendations made by an artificial intelligence (AI) system to those made by real doctors for patients with sepsis and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). About 350 critical care doctors and advanced practice providers will review patient cases and judge whether the recommendations are safe and appropriate, and whether they came from a human or AI. The goal is to see if the AI can produce recommendations that are just as good as a clinician's.
