AI device could cut wait times for chest pain patients in half
NCT ID NCT07074808
Summary
This study tested a portable AI device called aiTriage that aims to help emergency room doctors quickly decide which chest pain patients need urgent care. The device analyzes a patient's heart signals, blood pressure, and oxygen levels in just 5 minutes to provide a risk score, without waiting for blood test results. Researchers compared this new approach to standard hospital procedures to see if it could safely reduce unnecessary hospital admissions and shorten emergency room wait times for over 1,100 adult patients.
