First seen Feb 22, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tested whether an artificial intelligence (AI) system called GI Genius helps doctors find more polyps during colonoscopy in people returning for follow-up after a previous screening. Over 1,100 adults aged 50-74 were randomly assigned to either AI-assisted or standard colonoscopy. The main goal was to see if AI improves the rate of detecting adenomas (precancerous polyps).
