Herbal remedy challenges ibuprofen for post-wisdom tooth pain

NCT ID NCT07244029

First seen Nov 25, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study compares an herbal extract called Aescin (Reparil®) to ibuprofen for managing pain, swelling, and jaw stiffness after wisdom tooth removal. About 100 adults aged 18-40 will take either Aescin or ibuprofen for five days after surgery. Researchers will measure pain, facial swelling, and mouth opening before surgery and on days 2 and 7 after. The goal is to see if Aescin works as well as ibuprofen with fewer side effects.
