First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- ZNN Bactiguard Retrograde Femoral Nail (a medical device coated with an antibacterial layer to reduce infection risk)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this study could confirm that the Bactiguard-coated nail is a safe and effective option for fixing thigh fractures, potentially reducing infection rates.
- What could go wrong
- This is a post-market study, meaning the device is already approved. The main risk is that the coating may not significantly reduce infections or improve healing compared to standard nails.
