First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This phase 2 trial is testing a drug called ZEN003694 in 13 people with advanced squamous cell lung cancer that has a specific gene change (NSD3 amplification). The drug works by blocking certain proteins that may help the cancer grow. Researchers want to see if it can shrink tumors or slow the disease.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

ZEN003694 (a BET inhibitor drug)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a new treatment option for people with a specific type of advanced lung cancer that has a certain gene change.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase trial with only 13 participants, so results may not apply widely. The drug may not shrink tumors or could cause side effects.
