New approach aims to slash wait times for teens seeking mental health help

NCT ID NCT02836080

Summary

This study is testing whether a new, faster way of providing mental health and addiction services works better for teenagers than the usual hospital care. About 250 teens aged 14-18 were randomly assigned to receive either the new team-based care in community settings or standard outpatient treatment. The goal is to see if the new model improves teens' daily functioning, reduces wait times, and is more satisfying and cost-effective for families.
