New team approach aims to speed up mental health care for teens

NCT ID NCT02836080

First seen Mar 26, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a new way of delivering care—called an Integrated Collaborative Care Team (ICCT)—helps youth aged 14-17 with mental health and addiction issues get faster, more effective support. About 247 teens will be randomly assigned to either the ICCT model or usual hospital-based outpatient care. The goal is to see if the team approach improves daily functioning, reduces symptoms, and makes care more youth-friendly and cost-effective.
