Summary
This is a long-term observational study aiming to understand why young people with type 2 diabetes are at higher risk for heart and blood vessel disease. It will follow 930 participants aged 12-25 for up to 25 years, comparing those with diabetes, those who are overweight, and healthy peers. The study involves annual check-ups with various tests to track heart health, stress, metabolism, and lifestyle factors over time.
